We offer Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy support via visits to nursing homes to improve mobility , balance & prevent risk of falls along with independence in self-help skills, maximizing the potential of elderly population while in nursing home environment.

The following support services are offered:

Initial Physio & OT assessment to identify needs for clients in terms of mobility , strength, balance and coordination skills along with mode of transfers and mobility e.g . rollators , walkers , cane or stick .

Functional  ability assessments by OT identifying needs specific areas of feeding, dressing, grooming, toileting and showering. Provision of assistive and adaptive aids as required to overcome the difficulties .

Advice and recommend specialised seating folliwing assessments for wheelchairs/ comfort chairs based on individual’s medical cards to HSE for funding via nursing homes .

Train and encourage staffs to create specific and targeted groups or activities based on individuals needs and setting up of SENSORY ROOMS in nursing home and advice/ training to staff for effective use of snoezelin room.

Environmental assessments/adaptations for existing nursing home settings.
